Finding footwear that brings you joy is one of the most bewildering moments in life. Here my our top three picks from this week’s new releases from Nike.

Space Hippie 03: This is Trash

Space Hippie is a story of trash transformed. From the upper to the outsole, Space Hippie 03 is made of at least 45% recycled material by weight. Its “Space Waste Yarn” upper includes about 85% recycled polyester—made from recycled plastic bottles, t-shirts and yarn scraps—and uses a surplus FastFit tightening system to let you get in and go.

A soft, Crater Foam midsole combines Nike Grind with a blend of foams for stability and a unique aesthetic, while the shoe’s insole is made from ZoomX foam scraps, the same cushioning that creates the ultimate ride in Nike’s NEXT% running shoes. Talk about recycling at the top level but also what I love about these trainers is the colours and the style. It reminds me of the Chinese basketball scene with Li-Ning Way of Wade collection, except these are funky, comfortable and also show-stopping.

These kicks will be out on the 11th June, so make sure you get first in line for them.

Air Jordan 1 Hi OG Fearless

After the ten episodes of the Last Dance, I think I will wear just about anything Brand Jordan puts out after weeks of my up and down emotional moments with the documentary. But these Air Jordan 1 Hi OG Fearless is a gorgeous piece of kicks.

Celebrating 35 years of a sneaker icon, the Air Jordan 1 Hi OG Fearless channels MJ’s passion and unapologetic attitude in this fresh take on the ’85 model. Coated suede gives the shoe a shiny look to match the metallic Wings logo. These are sexy kicks ladies, even if you’re not a big fan of basketball, these are good to have just in case. Keep in mind that this has been out since October 2019 but they are still so good to look at and wear.

Nike Blazer Mid ’77

If you know me, then you know that my favourites colours include army olive. Anything with that colour will be bought because for some reason it takes me back to my high school days when wearing army colours were cool.

So, these Nike Blazer Mid ’77 brings the same old-school b-ball energy that I love from growing in Tottenham/ Wood Green – Duckett’s Common balling life, plus bold colour accents and snakeskin overlays offer a sleek twist on the iconic design.

What makes these kicks sleek is the canvas on the upper features a retro Swoosh logo while the stitched overlays and exposed needlework add to the throwback look, vulcanised construction fuses the outsole to the midsole for a streamlined look. It has a solid rubber sole with a modernised herringbone pattern adds traction and durability with a fresh vintage look and the high-top, padded collar adds support and comfort.

A must-have.
